I don't know how many people are old enough to remember when we LGBTQUIA+ people learned back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's that:
Silence = Death
But just so people know, hiding and being invisible _emboldens_ the craven and the cruel. It makes them more powerful, it does not mollify them and make them decide you're not a problem any more.
It encourages them to make you stay down.
Your silence may cost someone their life, and someone else being quiet may cost yours.
