It was just the company exec and I doing polite conversation on a Teams call before a "crisis" meeting. He brought up the election. I didn't have any prepared statements, which is rare and weird. I had not anticipated this and suddenly I felt put on the spot. I said, "there's nothing in the politics that impacts my life."
It was a lie when I said it. It was just a reflexive pushback on political talk at work.
"Don't you care about the future of the America?" a coworker asked me once. 1/2
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Politics at work is suicide. I liked to look at what was on the wall in people’s offices. Many times I would see a sports car or a boat and I had plenty to talk about with that individual as I tried to get to know them.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I can tell you I was in a protected underwater park in January that I have dove on many times. There wasn’t one fish on the mostly dead coral heads. The people that lead us on this globe are corrupt. From what I can see that fact is not unprecedented in history.
2/x I once did.
But I really care more about the future of the planet than I even do about my own species.
We are gifted the Garden of Eden and we decided to destroy it.
The politics is just rearranging the deck charis on the Titanic.
