@MidnightRider that bothers me too.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN At least empty the trash, leave fresh washcloths and have hot water in the morning for my shower, I didn't tip at all last trip in VA, didn't see the logic.
Do these folks not get paid a wage?
Very disturbing that people have to depend on tips.
@Flyingdutchman696 @SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I agree. It is disturbing.
Basically, the industries make their employees who do work for them have to subsidize their income through charity from strangers, usually based on the stranger thinking they were a good servant.
When you tip, that's basically rewarding the company who won't pay a living wage.
@AskTheDevil @Flyingdutchman696 my mom once cleaned hotel rooms at the Sheraton.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I just booked a suite for a week, national chain, no room service, not even sure about towels. The price however is higher than it was pre pandemic before the era of permanent "do not disturb".
