Almost three years ago we down sized our lives into a home with oversized appliances and um, "adjustments".
Previous owners' families pushed the boundries so that many things looked like muffin tops.
This created a crowding effect. So, now we're remodeling to go more open, bright.
We can maintain the european architecture of the home while blending the modern. Sophisticated, not sterile.
The kitchen....will be the challenge. It lives smaller than it is. We'll see what the designer says.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Wow that's a very small kitchen for a home of your stated square footage.
@MidnightRider exactly. My goal now is to get the house to "feel" as large as the "stated". 👍
@MidnightRider Oh, I agree. I'm not the first in the 50 year life of this house to consider this. But I have to hear "Uh, no."
@MidnightRider great, we can follow each others' stories on this.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I'll tell you this, the southern house has: A lovely back yard, an incredible layout and no stairs. But living here is killing my soul and the medicine here is straight up scary, there's always compromises. If I leave there is no door back.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I want to do it with a porch which will transform the house. But putting money into that house is a poor decision for me unless I decide to die there which I'm going to contemplate on a long car trip next week.
