Took me a while to catch on, but the "parents' rights" catchphrase is perfectly analogous to the "states' rights" tag of the 1960s. In both cases, it's not about the "right" to keep people well-fed, educated, empowered; it's about the "right" to keep them ignorant, brainwashed, powerless.
