The one thing I liked about the bird site is the immediacy of the news from the original sources. Is there a trending column?
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN One further thought: the fact that there isn't a stream of things that CoSo thinks are trending is kind of a good thing. It means there isn't some secret algorithm deciding for you that you should see some things and not others. I think less transparent filtering and processing is what makes it better.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I would just subscribe directly to the sources (and/or their rss feeds) and not rely on any entity to aggregate it for you.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I pinned #cosonews and #news in a column and it does a good job of filtering down to news posts. I think that's the magic sauce for CoSo is making effective use of hashtags and making a column for each topic you care about.
