@th3j35t3r I believe it. Our medical system is insane. I think real long and hard before I go in, give it some extra thought because I’m a woman and then even more because I exist in a larger body. The probability of having my issues dismissed with the suggestion to lose weight is too high for the bill I *know* I’m going to receive. It truly is an amazing experience to have my issue taken seriously the first time. And to not have my weight brought up? I better buy lottery tickets.

@Autumn @th3j35t3r The local hospital treats my Mom as a drug seeker.

@Ruthat @th3j35t3r I'm pretty sure they just treat everyone in Ohio like they are. It was so frustrating when I herniated my L5. They literally instructed me to take the maximum allowed amount of Tylenol everyday plus double the maximum allowed amount of Aleve everyday rather than dare prescribe pain pills. Of course none of it actually helped. The only one to finally intervene was the ER nurse looked at my chart and was clearly shocked that I wasn't receiving proper medication. 1/2

@Ruthat @th3j35t3r They had prescribed meds to help the nerve pain. It didn't, it was an inappropriate off-label use, and it ends up I'm terribly allergic to it and it caused me to collapse twice. Bless that nurse who saw what was happening and stepped in, arranged for all of the necessary tests to confirm I could still safely get my surgery the next week and got me proper pain meds. Thankfully the surgery was instant relief so I hoarded those last pills for just in case. It's insane.
