I am so effing sick of Caitlin Clark the great white hope already ... is she a great player? Yes. Is she gonna have a good career? Yes, barring injury ... but the media and sport personallities have made her situation a 'black vs. white' thing, creating tension where there should be none. It's sickening that the media need to twist her words and those of her opponents to generate clicks and ratings. Bleah.

Exactly so. She's a ballplayer, not a politican or an activist ... but just being a ballplayer (and a damned fine one) isn't enough, I guess ... it doesn't 'sell papers' or give Stephen Asshat Smith something to yammer about on ESPN. I wish these people would just STFU and let her play ball and do her job. She didn't ask for any of this.

Unfortunately agents in both left and right have decided to turn her whole basketball existence into a race / culture war
