Does anyone know if it's true that the bird app had to get verified accounts a long time ago cause people were posing as celebs and getting the celebs in trouble

@DevinY1 I think that was part of the problem. The other was to make it easier for people to find their favorite celebs and draw more users to Twitter

@RoxieTech So with Muskrat making people pay that's gonna cause problems again.

@DevinY1 @RoxieTech Silly thing is that he seems to think it's a mark that _makes_ you someone and people will pay for that to buy notoriety, rather than a mark that shows you're known someplace _else_. There's a significant difference between the two..
