I'm the "baby of the family" at 42. Since late last year, I live in a basement apartment at my mom's. I have brain cancer. It's disabling. I've been called the "independent" one my whole life but am occasionally still treated like a child. Every day I don't stab inanimate objects is a win.

Also, I can't sleep again tonight, and the universe owes me a cookie, dammit.

@EmilySuess moms very infantilizing to me so I know how that is in 37 ffs so.... .

I'm disabled too but I'm the only one out of 4 kids that has a fully paid off house!! Even mom has a mortgage to pay on.

None of the other kids have a place they all live w mom and my sis n older bro are older. Lil bro lives w them too..

@Remixedcat I have two brothers, one is awesome and the other has been talking down to me since I can remember. Sometimes I can roll with it all. Sometimes it makes me cranky.
