U.S. inflation cooled more than expected in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. Consumer prices rose 7.1 percent from a year ago.
The new data was an encouraging sign for Federal Reserve officials as they gather in Washington this week to discuss the next steps in their policy campaign against rapid price increases.

@grapho Inflation could go down to 3% but not much will change. Prices are already at an excessive profits level. People with financial problems before the inflation will be in worse condition now. I don't see any way or any tool to lower prices. Increasing wages will not work. It may increase demand, increasing prices.
