@MookyTroubadour It's beautiful, is what it is.
If you go to a wedding in a Christian church, often the priest will wrap the couple's hands with their stole (scarf). That act is taken directly from pagan hand fasting tradition.

@stueytheround @MookyTroubadour Right, because The Church stole our holidays and our customs and reworded them to sound Christian.

Thank You, Constantine the Great!

@RavenCutrereULC Yes. We did do that. Oops. Sorry!
I'm of the Celtic Christian Tradition, not the Roman.
The old seasons and many old prayers remain. Refocused toward Christ, yes but with an honest acknowledgement of the origins. I pray the Caim. I pray the small household prayers and tomorrow I will pray in particular for blessings upon my pagan friends.

@RavenCutrereULC We have so much in common to celebrate if only Christians could get their heads out of their arses!

The part that I think many of my fellow believers fail to grasp is that Halloween is exactly this. An invention of the church to appropriate the conveniently timed festival of Samhain. So my question to *them* is, if Halloween is a Christian invention, what in God's name are you *afraid* of with your "anti-halloween parties"? Gaaahhhhhhh!

*steps off soapbox*

Sorry for appropriating your thread.
