I don't know about the rest of you CoSoNauts but I'm getting pretty damn suspicious of all the recent big accounts over on the bird site suddenly getting "religion" over the corporatist post.news alternative.

Given well-established alternatives, like CoSo, which they reject, ignore or shun at every opportunity, I'm wondering if maintaining some corporatist connections or financial gain (ad share) is driving such behavior.

Very suspicious.

@Rabon Monetization is built right into the platform, so it will appeal to people who want to make money from their social media... Seemed kind of dull to me, but I think that's it - there's a 'tip' button on every post

Seems clear to me those big accounts were taking income from ad sharing on Twitter.

They kept defending it even after Musk took over because they had no alternative until Post dot news offered a path to keep $ flowing. A path CoSo, et al didn't.

Now we can see who the corporatists were.

I know they gotta make a living but it's sad when they do so at the expense of public trust.

To paraphrase Upton Sinclair - It's hard to tell the truth when your livelihood depends upon lies.

@Rabon Yeah, I sort of get how some people need to make a living, if they relied on their twitter to do it, they're probably losing money now if their subs are leaving especially; but from my very limited experience on post, it seems like it's mostly reposting tweets from twitter, some memes, mostly stuff I've seen before, people just posting nonsense to try to make money, looks like. I've only had an account for a few days but I'm not impressed at all.
