I have created a digital 100th anniversary edition of "The Kobzar of Ukraine", a selection of poems by Taras Shevchenko originally translated & published by my grandfather, Dr. A.J.Hunter (1868-1940) of Teulon, Manitoba in 1922. Dr. Hunter was a medical missionary who worked with Ukrainian immigrants in Manitoba. He was instrumental in building schools & a hospital in Teulon. The current hospital bears his name.

The Kobzar of Ukraine, 100th Anniversary Edition will also be available on Amazon and Kobo shortly, but the royalty rate there is only 35% for public domain works, which means most of the amount will go to Amazon & Kobo, instead of to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation. Find out more about them on their website. #Ukraine

Just realized that it would be funny to see Americans read Kobzar. It's purified rusofobic hate. 😅 He has the right tho, with all that he as a Ukrainian been through. He is our symbol, the most iconic man. I wis HBO made a mini series about him, that would be a blast😎
The book includes biographical sketches of Shevchenko's life. Born a serf, the story of his struggle for freedom throughout his life (1814-1861) is analogous to the story of Ukraine's struggle for independence. #Ukraine
All proceeds will be donated to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation to help support Ukrainians relocating to Canada due to Russia's war of aggression. It can be purchased elsewhere, but to maximize proceeds for donation, please use this link to purchase.
