I haven't been on social media (any) in a couple months... As I sit here in the hospital waiting room today though I opened up all the platforms to scroll the time away.

It's incredible, CoSo is, possible the last civilized social platform out here. The conversations, debates, the kindness... This truly is quite the achievement. Even if I continue to abstain from social media I don't think I will ever discontinue my CoSo Pro. It's pennies, but if it helps keep these lights on it's worth it.

My Dad passed today. He's been sick and battling dementia for a while and I thought I had already grieved the loss of the man I knew, but I don't think I really grieved anything at all. I'm glad he's at peace now, but I'm not sure I'm ready to be without him.

Find interesting technical work, try to blend in and not get noticed, get noticed, get slowly moved away from technical work and into "thought leadership" roles, realize what happened and try to find my way back into interesting technical work, repeat.

I'm a terrible mentor, I'm regularly paralyzed by imposter syndrome, I have no desire to return to management, I just want to try to break stuff and write about it while being invisible...

I never thought I'd see extremism penetrate this government so effectively.

There are 435 people in the House that have sworn an oath and accepted positions in which their entire job is to perform the people's business.

I know it would be career suicide, but out of the 221 Republicans I can't believe (I guess I can actually) that there aren't 5 who would take their job and the well-being of this country serious enough to join the Democrats, elect Jeffries as speaker, and reopen the House for the people.

I have never seen this level of destructive partisan politics.

Rep. Jordan's flat refusal to work with Democrats, his threats to Republicans that would, and his pro-division ideology is his blatant admission that he has no allegiance to this Country or its institutions at all. He simply wants to see it all burn.

I know, I may be preaching to the choir, but I just cannot wrap my head around how we got here or that so many support staying here. I've dedicated my career to serving this Nation and it pains me to see this go on.

Thank you CoSo, all of you... CoSo isn't an app it's the people, and you people truly are the best. I've not been posting much, but I'm here, scrolling, resetting, recentering. Not a whole lot of good lately, but I know I can find calm here.

Reached the point in my career where I'm less interested in "proving myself" and more interested in convincing people I know nothing and am not the person they're looking for... I don't want credit for anything, I'm happy give the "wins" to others, just let me sit in the dark corner and quietly do my thing in the shadows...

SANS SEC660 is wild. Every time I take a SANS course I say it's the best I've ever taken, and I'm right every time.

I wouldn't say I've ever taken a course where all the material is new to me, but I can say I've never walked away from a SANS course without learning a lot. If your employers pay for training and it's within budget, take a SANS course.
