When once a beacon, fierce and bright,
A land of stars, now lost in night.
Once fields of courage, valleys of dreams,
Are shadows now, torn at the seams.
The voices that rose, defiant and free,
Whispered truths lost on waves of the sea.
We traded ideals for comfort and gain,
Blind to the price, numb to the pain.
The heart of a nation, once open and vast,
Closes tight, gripped by echoes of past.
And those who remember a land of the just
See only the dust and the crumbling rust.

O land that we loved, with all of our might,
How did you fade so fast from sight?
An elegy hums through the silence and tears,
For dreams now buried in uncounted years
