I never had a relationship with my father or any father figure type(stepfather was a real prick). So when I see my boss is taking his college bound daughter to get her wisdom teeth pulled and stay with her and care for I can’t tell you the mixed emotions I get. On one hand I’m like WTF she’s old enough to take care of herself. Shit I had no one to take me and I cared for myself. And then on the other hand, makes me so effin sad I never had someone care for me like that (male figurewise)
Oh well
@purrrism I truly don’t think men realize this. I try not to feel a certain way about them because it’s not fair but men have go to understand if they have fucking daughters they have got to be present in their lives.
@Patti1120 I agree wholeheartedly,
@Patti1120 My father died when I was five. I understand
@gemswinc my father left me when I was born and never looked back. He made a deal with my mom. No child support meant no kids in his life and he agreed and left. Then came abusive stepfather. So I try so hard not to be bitter but there are times I’m effin angry and pissed. I get over it but the rage never dies. Ever
@Patti1120 No, it will stay with you, but as you know, keeping it on background is better for your well being. My eventual "stepfather" was a gentleman, but my mother had other boyfriends, that was a different matter. It's part of who you are, forever.
@Patti1120 sorry that the young woman inside was injured and neglected. It comes to the surface when you see the live and care you didn't receive. Talking about it can help because then you can see you are not alone. Getting wisdom teeth removed is scary and it's usually the first time dealing with a surgical procedure. Sorry you had to do it alone.
@Patti1120 what you went through should never happen to anyone. I am so sorry.
Yup. I understand. Sometimes, you have to swallow the knee-jerk resentment that pops up & be happy that others do not have to endure what you did.
What matters is - you're not alone. We can rise above the hurts. ❤️
@Patti1120 not having a father figure really fucks one up...
