@Paradise7D Funny, cause his ancestors changed the family name from Drumpf (German) to Trump somewhere along the line. It stems from the word for "drum."

I'm German myself, and Trump's German ancestors were called Trump ever since 1699 when it started with Johann Sebastian Trump who was born in Bobenheim am Berg. Sadly, the line ends there, I can't see beyond the 1699 Trump. It would be interesting to find out when the name came to be. @Teej_Muk Back from a lengthy work meeting -- well, as a German name, Drumpf sounds awfully strange. Trumpf yea, but Drumpf? Thanks for the link, maybe there's more to it than I could research; the genealogy lines give their names as Trump though, a Drumpf is nowhere to be seen. Plus, I couldn't find a single German-language source that mentions Drumpf! -- By the way, the second export of Kallstadt (where Hanns Drumpf lived) was the Heinz family that later created a certain ketchup brand ;)
