Musk has said in the past he and a few other billionaires want to trash the US economy to force people into crypto. The department Trump wants him to lead is to be called DOGE - and ass you likely know Musk is a big supporter of dogecoin (https://www.forbes.com/sites/digital-assets/2024/11/14/elon-musk-issues-surprise-crypto-endorsement-amid-3-trillion-bitcoin-dogecoin-and-crypto-price-boom/) so that is not a coincidence.
Crypto legislation likely coming under Trump, ex-SEC chief says
@ShaneArtBooks I was an inside salesperson for major Canadian datacenter and later a startup datacenter that specialized in crypto mining so I bought $500 worth 6 years ago to have some credibility. Today it's worth $5,253.21 so that's a good return but I'm opposed to crypto in general.
I don't want to cash it in as it would affect other income help from the government. I'm just leaving it for my estate
@NorthernInvader Wow. That's definitely a good return and an interesting story. My general view is that it makes more sense for me to focus on staying healthy and doing what like I to do, which is art and writing. I don't think I would enjoy trying to figure out crypto, nor would I enjoy the worrisome fact that it might make money but it could very well come crashing down, too. You have a good attitude, I think.
@ShaneArtBooks Ya I'm not going to do anything with it myself.
@NorthernInvader I'm really worried about this. Prepare for recession or depression or total collapse. It's what Musk wants.
@SandHillThicket yup and he wants to do it to Canada too.
The incoming crypto-federal reserve

Crypto Has Its Berlin Wall Moment As U.S. Aims To Make History
@Zevon and the people who will benefit the most from it - Musk et al - will be the ones making the rules.
@NorthernInvader
Screw that, I'll stick to magic beans
@NorthernInvader 😡😡😡
@NorthernInvader Behold, the next "Great Depression" in the making. Note: The uber-rich fucking around and finding out was what caused the first one in 1929 too. Which led to a 91% tax rate on the wealthy, because starvation and poverty serve to focus voter attention spans marvelously well....which we need to re-institute.
@NorthernInvader I'm making a real effort to avoid cryptocurrency.
