Bakers - if you use a lot of yeast see if your local grocer sells this, if not Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000LRFVHE) has it.. It's a much better $ deal than buying individual packets or jars. The one I just finished lasted me several years (transferred to a sealed mason jar and kept in fridge) making bread every few weeks.
@GeezerWench yup - if you keep it in the fridge in a sealed jar. I just finished mine this past week and its use before date was June 21, 2023. IIRC I bought it early in 2021.
It definitely lasts years in the fridge. Mine is so far past expired! I just finished using one expired in 2020! 😂
@NorthernInvader Nope. This one expired in June 2022, but I just opened it this summer. Still works like a dream! I think the key is the foil vacuum-packed bulk yeast. @GeezerWench

I also bought some wine yeast in smaller packets because I was interested in trying to make some SOMEDAY, and those just went straight into the fridge. Some year I might use one of them? 😆😅
