Misinformation is too technical, too freighted, and, after almost a decade of Trump, too political. Nor does it explain what is really happening, which is nothing less than a cultural assault on any person or institution that operates in reality. If you are a weatherperson, youβre a target. The same goes for journalists, election workers, scientists, doctors, and first responders.
Where I start wanting to toss people over the rail is when they go, "Even if it's FAKE, it's STILL real!"
@mcfate exactly and many so called influencers, and politicians rely on that, as well as by the time someone does disprove it the media has moved on.

The biggest problem with disinformation is that it's asymmetrical.
Someone can tell a lie in ten seconds β "Haitians are stealing people's cats and EATING them!" β that will take WEEKS to refute.
