'81 wiped out my motorcycle on a corner and slid head first into a giant rockface otherwise it would have been a long drop into the pacific, '98 black ice sent me over a steep 80 ft embankment into side of creek

I've been very lucky. '58-59 (I was 10 or 11) coming back from visiting grandparents in MB our little trailer hit a soft shoulder just outside of Libby MO and rolled our 55 Plymouth down a rock slope that ended in a swamp. I was lucky- I was in the front seat between my parents. My dad broke his back, my mom was black and blue, my older brother was thrown out the back window (IIRC about 100 stitches), I was OK- I scrambled up the rocks to the road and flagged help

The corner we lost it on was appropriately named Dead Man's Curve :) I had to laugh when we received a bill for the ambulance - apparently at that time it was both the town's ambulance and hearse - my mom was horrified when she learned that :)
