@Lulz4l1f3 That is a T-nut. it's used to put internal threads into a piece of wood, instead of having to use a washer and nut on the other side of the wood. It just makes some projects look nicer. :)

Correct. and less prone to rattling when getting looser, so invaluable in pro speaker cabs.
