I'm hoping with the election to soon be over that we will see a reduction in the ugliness I've been seeing between folks.
I recognize maga as an existential threat. I mean, they're running campaign ads about targeting people like me, it's hard not to. But hate is baggage.
They might hate me but it's not going to keep me from showing up with compassion. I'm hoping that's something we can all unite behind as we put this divisive election behind us.
You are absolutely correct! Hatred has intricate link to jealousy and ultimately selfishness!
Accountability is required in times like these and hopefully, it will be encapsulated in Justice‼️
In order for one to display compassion, one has to have Love within their hearts. For compassion is a byproduct of love and we are witnessing Love in few areas & moments in this world 🌎!
Quite sad but true…
@Soldier_Solitude Thich Nhat Hanh said "A world without suffering, is a world without compassion. A world without compassion is hell"
It's not about enshrining or cherishing suffering, but encountering it can create an impetus to not want to see it perpetuate. This is the birth of compassion
I have experienced hurt so I don't want to see others hurt.
There is a darker path though, rage. It's far to cherished in our time, but it's elevation is all the more reason to embrace compassion.
I agree that a world without compassion is terrible!
This day & age hate and rage are increasing as a byproduct of selfishness! We have to do what we can to ensure that no one suffers.
Sorry…to hear that you have experienced hurt in your life. Hopefully, you have healed from that experience and looking forward to brighter days!
Continue to display compassion for it is priceless!…
Question: what do you base your happiness on?
@Soldier_Solitude The darker the night, the more incumbent it is that we shine with all the compassion in our hearts.
No matter how selfish the age, we each, individually have the power of our own choices.
I base my happiness I'd say off of my faith and practice, calling and family.
How about you?
@NiveusLepus there's hate & then there's anger. if you're talking maga, they're spreading hate. so admonition that those on the receiving end of that hate simply 'turn the other cheek' is not ok.
it is understandable that peeps are angry at being identified as 'other', as 'inferior' as 'eating cats' & having lies told about them. that's not hate. that's anger. & justified at that.
i'm not saying we should all be shouting at each other. let's just not ask 1 side to swallow their feelings.
@singlemaltgirl I apologize, it appears I have said something that has led me to be misinterpreted.
It was not my intention to suggest people swallow their feelings, but that there were more responsible and healthy ways of expressing those emotions then insults and hatred and othering.
It seems to me that's what got us all here in the first place.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that- Martin Luther King Jr.
That doesn't mean people get a free pass for bigotry, but there's a difference between accountability and hostility. Between addressing an inequality and dressing down an individual.
I'm troubled by all the hatred I'm seeing in our world, and its not going to get better by proliferating that fire.
