I just read a very angsty post about how Gen Z is emotionally inept because of how some on social media are mourning the passing of One Direction.

I can practically hear the dude's knees creak.

Thing is they said the same about us Millenials and aside from social dread and crushing economic prospects we're fine... mostly?

The idea that there is an appropriate way to grieve is cultural, and culture is changing with each generation.

Animated gifts and crying emojis aren't the worst.

@NiveusLepus People are making fun of people for being upset that someone who makes their music died?

@AskTheDevil @NiveusLepus Also, dude was only 31. That's sad no matter how you feel about his music.

@danialexis @AskTheDevil I've never heard any of their songs, don't know the band at all, but that's beside the point. A Unique light has gone out in the universe, and that is a tragedy. It always is.

@NiveusLepus @danialexis

Right?

Someone made music, and their music affected people, and now they have passed away, and the people are saddened.

We're supposed to be sad when stuff like that happens!
