Don Bluth for story and depth. Disney for mass market appeal.

Disney has this knack for stripping myths and legends for parts and then using them to create a mass marketable story.

This is why they were the worst choice for star wars. Disney is a strip miner for stories.

Don Bluth did a lot of deep and impactful work. like the Secret of Nimh, Titan Ae, An American Tail... he went deep.

@NiveusLepus @sentientdessert I like Titan AE for all of itself, but it really won me over when it appeared to introduce an annoying comedy relief character, but then they were blasted into goo moments later.

Parents removed crying children from the theater, and an usher shushed me for cackling.
