I have to admit, when I saw the Tim Walz pick I didn't quite get it. I understood the value of Tim Walz as an individual, but like I said, the best running mates have a kind of mutually-reinforcing synergy. And at first glance, Kamala and Tim don't seem to have a lot in common beside their age–and even there, their looks belie them in different directions. One's coastal, multiracial, big city; one's Great Plains, white, farm country.
But now that I've seen them together, I get it.
