People have weird taboos around dishwashing. Like, if you hand-wash dishes, you have to hand-dry them, you can't let them air-dry. Or if air-drying is permissible, you can't put something freshly washed & wet in the rack with dishes that are now dry.

It depends. Droplets of clean tap water? To me, not a dirtying effect. Droplets of soapy water or rinse water with actual or potential food particles? Potential dirtying effect for sure.
