#Gym Stats!
I am shifting up my focus a bit, limiting myself to 2 hours, with just one half an hour strength session.
I am happy with where I am in terms of strength and am making slow and steady progress.
My main focus though has always been running and I'm making strides there that I want to focus on and push further. I never thought I'd be running this fast, this long.
I'm trying to work smarter, and give myself the space and recovery needed to hit the goals I have set for 2024.
#run
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Running at a sustained 6.4 mph, with the last 2 miles at 6.5. I'm truly excited about that. I might be finally going for my first marathon this year.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Ultimate goal here is to be at 7.0 mph sustained by the fall, and pushing the runs longer while I do so. If I can do that, I'll be happily in the middle of the pack provided I can push through to 26.2.
I've done 15 mile runs before so I think I can hack it.
@NiveusLepus wow!
@NiveusLepus @SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Keep it up, trust the process and you'll make it. I'm training for my first marathon in April. Aiming to get a qualifying time for Boston 2025. Turned 72 today. Managed a half-marathon in October at 5:47/km, so I think the goal is reasonable. Zone 2 running made a huge difference to my endurance. I can't recommend it enough.
@NiveusLepus Well done! 😁Only time I run with any real effort is when I'm late for something or if there is danger...I can run if I think I'm being chased by someone/about to get into trouble. 😁
@Cynanthrope That's fair, running is much less important for doggos than hares. You only have to be lucky once, after all, I have to be lucky every time. ^_^
@NiveusLepus Dogs are motivated to run if something is worth chasing after or if the something is chasing me and I really need to get out of there. Add to that I'm mostly a scavenging feral/street dog and rely mostly on opportunities. Who is going to run when your food is just lying there anyway? 😉
@NiveusLepus very good!
