@Nick_Searles One benefit appears to be that during sleep the brain cells shrink slightly, the spaces between them increase, and fluid flushes out the waste products. For me, even a very short nap totally refreshes my mind, so I believe it.

@rthstew I nap away at times. But there are too any nights where there was no nap, I worked and just toss and turn.
