@GrandmaJ @LaurelGreen my friend was a school youth psychologist... It almost destroyed her mentally, with the expectations they had of her. Thankfully she got pregnant and had to leave... The time off reset her brain and she took another job (though I think she still worries a lot about a few of the kids, and not being able to check on them is likely weighing her down, still)
@GrandmaJ @NapsAndSarcasm I bet roles like your daughters are missing the emotional support teachers get from one another, which sounds brutal.
@LaurelGreen @NapsAndSarcasm She does get support from special Ed teachers where her office is located and from the most important people in the building— the secretaries and the custodians. 💜
@NapsAndSarcasm @LaurelGreen Daughter has moved into more of a compliance officer position. She does all the training of all staff in high school, middle school, intermediate school and all elementary schools. She is responsible for making sure all schools are staying in compliance with state and federal laws. It’s a huge responsibility and particularly aggravating when staff doesn’t take their roles seriously in staying compliant. I really don’t know how she keeps going sometimes.
