Lmfao the rental board says rent control would chase investors away?
How awful! Homes would have to be available for those who want a roof and not an income source???
is absolutely needed here!

@NapsAndSarcasm I watched first hand in Portland when the developers came in and raised rent across the city, pushing out "undesirables". Oregon stepped up and made it illegal and shut them down... But the damage was done. They just all packed up and moved elsewhere.

Now they're all over the U. S. I was priced out if Portland, moved back to Phoenix and priced out if there. My brother and I both, separately, had our rent in Phx jacked up antother $500 per month. We had to relocate again.

@daimudan My apartment (left literally,5 days before the first "shutdowns") pre-Covid (1 bed 500 sq) was $980.
I looked at it in curiosity in June... $1175.
It was a bedbug filled hole, that was rarely cleaned.
Unacceptable and people have no choice but to pay or be homeless.

@NapsAndSarcasm It's awful. Until folks push hard for law makers to fast track control laws, as they did in California and Oregon, it's a plague that keeps on giving.
