So the Supreme Court basically CANCELS The 4th of July.
The holiday that celebrates the day in 1776 when the country declared its freedom from British monarchy rule by signing the Declaration of Independence.
They have just ruled this country a monarchy.
@NOliver They're going for dictatorship, not monarchy. It's more of a free-for-all. Monarchies are hereditary, whereas a dictatorship is where whoever seizes power from the previous dictator is dictator.
I'm not sure which is worse.
Let's not have either.
@AskTheDevil
True
@AskTheDevil
But LÜGENtrump would love to pass the septer to Ivanka. Ending elections.
@NOliver Eh. Or it will be a scrabble for power. He does admire the Uns, though. But if all the power comes from him - and he's lousy at sharing - when he dies, nobody around him may care what he thinks any more. It would be to be seen which faction prevailed, this far ahead, in a future that we may steer away from.
What timeline would y'all prefer?
; )
@NOliver Original constitution had no provision for a supreme court in it. Provisions were added in 1789 in what was called the 'judiciary act' and the first court heard its first case in 1791. So going back to 1776 would mean NO supreme court. Not sure how they make that work with originality minds.
