Not only did your boyfriend think this was a good idea.
But your family and your friends went along with it.
Not one of them stopped it.
Not one of them said are absolutely nuts, how can you do this to someone!?

I can see staging a public engagement proposal if you're sure its what you both want & have discussed getting engaged & know the answer is yes. But not a wedding No matter how nice she dressed it wasn't what she would have chosen as a wedding dress
