@Myrth Aaron Trupar, one of my favorite live tweeting fact checkers, was blocked for calling out Trump's speech that asserted kids were immune to COVID.
On what grounds, you might ask?
On the grounds that @atrupar was spreading false info on COVID.
Turns out it was probably an algorithm that acts upon key words in a sentence, combined with complaints. And of course, Trumpophiles complain when Trump is called out.
Fortunately, Twitter apologized (!!!) and @atrupar is back to tweeting.
@BlueStateBabe good to know. I did not see Twitter’s apology. Seems rather uncharacteristic for them to post any apologies. Which account did they use to apologize? I follow a couple.
Ah, so a personal reply, not a tweeted reply. OK. They don’t seem to publicly apologize.
Glad they can privately, at least.
