I only advocate carefulness with proven treatments among the rare diseases, since they often change how you react to normal things. Like Addison's where the standard treatment kills the patient. But with many of us, it is a lifetime of being a guineapig/self-advocate on what is right treatment. Otherwise, medical treatments are based on statistics, and 9/10 it will work.

Oh... i have known people like this.. one similar situation.. Her husband contracted HIV while overseas, her new agey friend sold her a four thousand dollar “rife” machine that was supposed to heal anything using sound frequencies. They use radio waves, and while idk what the official science-magic explanation for how they work is, voltage gated ion channels in cell walls are a real thing.

Also I've seen people using them for years with no ill effect. They shouldn't replace actual allopathic medicine but that's true of all alternative therapies.

That is different than what i am describing. The rife machine, as I mentioned, looked interesting because in other applications, it could work but there were no clinical trials and it went sideways with the AMA conspiracy, imho. I think i got that wrong.. it was Radio Frequency /EMF but the premise was the same. Basically the machjne is a box with 2 cool looking light glass tubes on it that you hold in your hands.
