Well, technically that's a trebuchet...
Smugglers get medieval: Pot catapult found at border
@tyghebright I've always wanted a trebuchet..
I have wanted a trebuchet ever since we saw one in action at a pumpkin festival.
The festival featured pumpkin cannons, catapults, and one AWESOME trebuchet. 😻 They all launched pumpkins at an old car out in a field.
We watched while eating pumpkin pie and sipping pumpkin spiced drinks. 🎃
Punkin' Chunkin' is so much fun to watch.
Some people invest crazy amounts of time and money into their machines -- but I think the trebuchets are my favorite.

They do Punkin Chunkin in Southern Delaware near where MrsE0113 and I live...
@Madken65 @Myrth @tyghebright I hope you realize that we're all coming over for that now.

Alas, Punkin Chunkin is dead in Illinois now. Following a deadly explosion of an air cannon at a show in Delaware a few years ago, the Illinois Fire Marshall decided that all air cannons would have to get annual certifications in this state. That effectively killed off the event here. 😿
@Madken65 @Jennifelroy @tyghebright
I am not sure if the Delaware pumpkin cannon explosion was deadly or just maiming - I don’t recall now. It’s been a few years. But I do recall the disappointment when it was announced that there would be no more Punkin Chunkin.
I would have happily dealt with wider safety zones around the machines.
