Homicide rate against female victims up by 21%.
Not surprising in a nation with a Misogynist in Chief, a nation that refuses to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.
@Myrth This is *precisely* what I meant the other day when I was saying that the #MeToo movement would not be bloodless, that Trump's misogyny would have a massive effect, and that I was tired of hearing the old adage that "men are more afraid of women than we are of them." They couldn't possibly be.
No, they aren’t afraid of working late and being in a building alone, remembering the friend who did so and was brutally raped and left for dead.
They aren’t afraid of walking to their car alone after dark.
They aren’t afraid to answer the door when they are home alone.
They aren’t afraid to go on that blind date.
They aren’t afraid to be alone with a co-worker who management won’t fire for inappropriate behavior.
They have NO CLUE.
And the #MeToo movement should not be bloodless. The wealthy like Epstein and his friends committed countless rapes of underaged girls. If not barred by statutes of limitations, every single one of those sick f*ckers should be prosecuted, regardless of status, party affiliation, etc.
I don’t just want the #RapistInChief on this, I want them ALL to go down.
@AvaSpeaksUp oh yes. More women are dying now. GOP in Congress refused to reauthorize VAWA, and 45* has normalized assaults of women. Right wing “Christians” are making statements against women for speaking out. A rapist was confirmed to SCOTUS.
The backlash has begun. It is a fight for our lives, quite literally.
@Myrth The holidays, New Years and Super Bowl Sunday are going to be blood baths this year. I'm so glad I'm not working any more.
