My registers decided to not connect to my VeriFones tonight as I’m literally walking out the door.
This means I can’t take credit cards or electronic payments of any kind.
A helpful “gentleman” who works in IT suggested “just log off and reboot the register.”
That would be fine, if it were 1 register, it was ALL 8 of them.
It probably would have been ok, if our system want based on Windows 3.2 or equivalent. Ok. Maybe windows 95.
But thanks for trying random IT guy.
I think I know my systems better than you, I’ve been working on them for 6 years now.
Well, keeping them functional with duct tape and cocoa butter.
When ALL 8 go down with the same issue. It’s a connectivity issue. Not a hardware issue. I’ve been having little episodes all day.
That did come back about an hour later.
So it either resolved itself or my real IT guys figured it out.
I love making those phone calls!! IT HATES ME and loves me at the same time. I give them details. 😆
