Just putting it out there… but would there be any reason whatsoever that Joe Biden couldn’t use his fresh hot presidential immunity for official acts to dissolve the electoral college and make sure the will of the people is actually the will of the people and not the electors?
@SaltyVeruca it’s a damn shame that ethics are only ever meaningful to one party.
There’s probably not much he could do. The Electoral College is a state thing. BUT, he could talk to the hold-out states in the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) and try to encourage them to join?
If Texas, Florida, and Ohio were to join the NPVIC, they would bring the total to 296 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 needed to make the compact effective.
Done.
Other combinations of other states would work too. And it takes effect automagically.
@amarand @MotherDucker Not exactly automatically. There would be a court battle leading to the SCOTUS, and we all know what they would rule.
I was hoping he would take 3 SC justices away for a vacation, like at gitmo. Left them sit and ponder their recent decisions. Plus it would leave the court with a 3-2 liberal advantage.
@MotherDucker I feel he's slightly too ethical. I would have purged everybody and everything by now.
