@Anouk @MotherDucker If by friendliest, you mean most cautious, I agree. They’re particularly nice about keeping huge gaps open in front of them so you can make a lane change. Then they slow even more so other cars can move over. Eventually you wonder if they’re going to end up going backwards.

@Anouk @MotherDucker That’s definitely the population segment they aim their advertising at — cautious and caring parents, families, and seniors. It’s a great research and marketing approach — find an underserved but generally well-to-do group, build for it, and sell to it.

Whenever I drive a VW Beetle strangers wave at me, drivers slow down to let me change lanes and enter the freeway, and there's just a general easy-going vibe. Like, who doesn't love a Beetle?
