Woohoo! Just got the email from King County Superior County that they have the jury pool they need and excusing me from duty. I’m really relieved, because the trial is expected to run from Nov 25 - Dec 19. I know few people are thrilled to get a jury summons, but, if this had been a few months ago, I would have faced it with a reluctant sense of duty as a citizen. Let’s just say my feelings about justice and citizenship has taken a bit of a hit recently.

@Hyporeality I don’t object going to jury duty, even though I’m usually asleep until noon. They however don’t want me because eventually they ask about juror nullification, and I’m a massive proponent.

@MookyTroubadour I think my answers to the survey about the case made me a bad choice. I can talk about it now. It’s a doctor who is Black suing the medical facility he worked at for discrimination. I have pretty strong opinions on racism in the workplace and DEI. FYI, I think the defense (medical facility) probably nixed me as a potential juror.
