When some actor says Mel Gibson “deserves to make films” I can’t make sense of it. Who is stopping him? Do they mean he deserves the funding from industry sources? Do they mean he deserves distribution, participation, support, etc? What exactly is he “deserved” here, and why him versus someone less vocally racist?
It’s a remarkably vague kind of entitlement.
@MookyTroubadour He is talented and charismatic in some regards. So are tens of thousands of other actors, most of whom I've never heard of. Give one of them a chance instead.
