Do all the western people who protest in support of Palestine know anything about Hamas and/or Sharia Law?
I’m not being flip in asking- I don’t know what they think they are trying to accomplish. I can imagine someone saying the killing of civilians is wrong, but I don’t get the sense that’s the message.
It seems like if they really gave a crap about civilians, they’d be vocally as against Hamas.
In the last week or so I saw Malala Yousafzai speaking in defence of Gaza civilians, and then get rebukes. Weren’t these the same people who shot her in the head for advocating female education?
I feel like I’m missing parts of the story.
@MookyTroubadour like other religions how fundamentalist one is, or accepting of others within the faith is so wide ranging and relative.
@CanisPundit for sure I think fundamentalism of any flavor is a problem (and I mean a dangerous one), but I don’t hear that kind of message clarity in the various protests. It leads me to think that the protestors don’t know very much about what they’re shouting/demonstrating about.
It's no use: all fanatics--Hamas, Likud, Haniyeh, Netanyahu, etc--ruin everything for everybody.
@Lulz4l1f3 man…. I hope you’re mistaken, but it sure feels useless sometimes. :(
It doesn't help to put all the protestors in the same bag or to equate them with Hamas or the sharia law. Neither does it help to ignore that Joe Biden sent billions of dollars and weapons to Netanyahu, a genocidal sociopath. Some protestors are just trying to stop the flow of money to Netanyahu as a way to prevent further innocent deaths.
@MarceloPaezPereda I’m not trying to do either of those things.
Shit! I forgot the #politics tag. Sorry if that popped up where it should not have.
