I’m starting to think that the people who design plugs are sadistic maniacs. Today I’m dealing with MC4 connectors (common to solar panels). There’s a “male” end and a “female” end for positive/negative, but the metal interior bits are the other way around from the outer plastic weather coupling- the “female” end metal jacket goes within the “male” end. Okay. Fine. Be counterintuitive. No- they didn’t stop there.
They could have made the outer plastic coupling such that it’d only accept the correct internal business, but nooOOOOooo…
Not only that, when you get it wrong and try to pull out the inner metal coupling, it won’t fucking come out.
Grrr. Bastards!
