I was thinking of Geddy Lee of Rush, and thought “What is Geddy short for?” Gedmonton?

I looked it up. It’s a nickname that derived from how his Polish Holocaust surviving mother pronounced his name, Gary.

I can just hear it. “Geddy, vy you no get haircut?” 😂
