OMG!
Not only did I find out my Ukrainian pen pal, Serhii Moroz, is still safe and has returned for his most recent tour of duty in combat…but I find out he is doing so well that they have promoted him to Junior Sargent! Until the Russians crossed over into Ukraine, he had never been in the military nor ever considered joining. But he stepped up when his homeland was attacked. He still wears my Kevlar helmet and carries my bayonet for his AK-47.
I put lots of prayers on those when I sent them

Thank you! I worry for him. He has been in some heavy combat, on occasion
He wasn’t a fully trained soldier in the beginning but is building his knowledge about combat by fighting alongside the regular army units
