It's that time of the year: time to close off the two main bedrooms to conserve cool air.
In the mornings, my room gets blasted with sunshine.
In the afternoons, the guest bedroom gets the full brunt of summer sunshine.
We're entering 100 degree weather starting tomorrow. Dry, desert furnace heat.

In the early evening, I open up my bedroom again so air can circulate again.
Of course, it's also fan season.
The house is full of white noise because of them.

@MariaAragon64 I've shut the vents everywhere but the living room and the kitchen. No sense cooling the others, and hopefully we'll need the swamp cooler less.

This house came with air conditioning, but if it runs too long, it freezes up.
So we have to use thermal curtains and other window coverings to preserve the cool air as much as possible.

@MariaAragon64 I need to get thermal curtains, but to keep the heat out on the west side of the house (which includes the kitchen).

@HealingHobbit
Get the best ones you can find.
They make a huge difference both summer and winter.
