When a lush green tropical island catches fire and burns out of control, this is a sign Earth is screwed. There comes a tripping point in global warming. When this point occurs, thermal runaway happens. This is exactly what happened to Venus. Earth is going to get hot. Very hot. Hot enough to melt lead and the oceans will boiling off. Temps? Venus is 450°C at the surface(900°F) Air conditioning ain't gonna help.
We have to stop dumping CO2 into the atmosphere. Sooner rather than later.
@TrueBloodNet
Surface temperature on Venus is just as hot as the Sun side of Mercury yet twice the distance from the Sun. It is the 95% CO2 atmosphere of Venus that traps the heat. Earth relies on the oceans to remove the CO2. But a point is reached where the oceans cannot keep pace in removing the CO2 as fast as humans are dumping it into the atmosphere.
