Why is NASA wasting 100's of millions in going back to the Moon🤔 If NASA is really serious about finding life elsewhere besides Earth, we should be going to Europa. Scientists are 100% certain that under Europas icy outer surface is liquid oceans. One thing we have learned from Earths own very hostile environments, where there is water, there is life. Thriving life.

Ok, got to admit, that is a good reason. If we could figure out how to contain the power of a star, fusion would definitely be a very clean source of energy. No deadly waster that will sit around for 10's of thousands of years.
@MallyDaKatt Mainly because we can't travel straight to Europa, we need way-stations along the route. Thus setting up one on the moon is the first step.
